(More customer reviews)Ever since I began getting headaches from regular candy, I've been searching for high-flavor sugar-free candy. So much of it seems to start out well then bite you back with a nasty aftertaste. I discovered too, that aspartame was also not good for me, so the search began for candy made with Splenda.
This package of Crystal Light Chewy Candy contained strawberry, raspberry orange and lemon. They were square like Starburst, but not quite as intense or as tart, which was a little bit of a let down. The berry flavors were tasty, as was the orange. My favorite flavor was the lemon.
I've been a fan of Sorbee hard candies because they have a great taste and texture and no bitter aftertaste, or any kind of head pain. I was thrilled to find chewy candy!
If you aren't used to eating sorbitol based candy, however, they are slightly laxative, so you should try to limit yourself to no more than six. The more often you enjoy this type of confection, the less if seems to have that effect. I live with a diabetic who enjoyed the texture and taste of the chews as much as I did, and no spike in sugar numbers was definitely a plus. I would like to see a blend of tropical flavors.
I recommend this to anyone trying to watch calorie intake, sugar levels and it also has an exchange for those on Weight Watchers. I loved them and will be getting more soon!

I have to get rid of a whole lot of body weight so that I can have surgery that isn't going to stay "elective" very much longer. But I LOVE CHOCOLATE. I offered my husband one of my lollipops but he declined, and then called me Kojack as I settled into my chair to read as I sucked my lollipop. That's okay.
Now I'm going to go back to my chair and read my nice new Kindle.

The only problem I find is that you can buy these at Walmart for under $2 a bag....so they need to sell these for less. Also keep extras in the fridge cause they do get sticky when they melt in the summer heat.

(More customer reviews)Hershey's Sugar Free Dark Chocolate candy bars tastes very close to the full sugar version. Dark Chocolate was always one of my favorite treats before coming a Type 2 diabetic, so it is great being able to have it again in a sugar free version. There is a little bit of an after taste with these but dark chocolate is usually bitter so it isn't really an issue for me (but my wife says she notices more than I do).
I should mention that eating too many of these (more than 3 or 4) does cause me some "gastric distress", so you might want to try them at home before eating a bunch while out in public.

I am a dedicated patron of Juicy Fruit, but saw this gum at the gas station the other day. As with the previous reviewers, I was skepical at first, assuming that this was just a marketing ploy and that it would taste like any of the many peppermint or spearmint gums already on the market (which I don't particularly love). But the picture of the ice cream on the front of the box was compelling, so I decided to risk it. It SERIOUSLY DOES taste like mint chocolate chip ice cream. No kidding, it is just like eating a bowl of ice cream (I also think the flavor is somewhat reminiscent of Thin Mints). Now, I feel like I'm eating 3 or 4 bowls of ice cream per day, for a grand total of 20 calories. And do not just take my word for it: I recently was at a gathering of a few co-workers and all of them tried it and were quite impressed as well. I'm sure they will be posting a review any day also.
And now I leave a challenge for Extra: Make a French Silk Pie gum!!!!

In various rat studies, Acesulfame K produced lung tumors, mammary tumors, and rare types of tumors in other organs (such as the thymus gland), several forms of leukemia and chronic respiratory disease, even when less than maximum doses were given. According to the Center for Science in the Public Interest, it was petitioned on August 29, l988 for a stay of approval by the FDA because of "significant doubt" about its safety.
They taste great, but frankily, I'm afraid to eat them. Why not use Stevia instead?

(More customer reviews)I lived in Germany and have consumed my share of gummi bears. :) These sugar free bears are very good. This type of candy suits itself to sugar free treatment. Much like hard candy. You don't get the big taste difference like you do with lots of the chocolate sugar free treats.
A word on some of the reviews listed here on Amazon... Sugar Free candies are not meant to be eaten by the handfull. Sugar Free is mostly made for people that can't process the Sugar and people that are in this category have all learned from experience, you don't eat Sugar Free sweets in any large amount.
I have a mild case of Type II which I am gratefully able to control by diet alone and can tell you personally that these candies are very good if you are in a Gummi mood. The affect on my blood sugar is typical of this sort of treat. Just as I wouldn't eat 50 carbs of anything, a snack of this type is only around 10 bears.
People living with health issues concerning Blood Sugar understand the requirement. Those just looking to cut carbs or lose a bit of weight may want to re-think eating most sugar free treats and look into other type of sweets to satisfy.
