(More customer reviews)I've read the reviews about the One Touch Ultra Mini glucometer regarding accuracy, inclusion of accessories and portability. I haven't found any of these issues in my experience.
I currently own a One Touch Ultra 2, and it works just fine. The problem with it is that's it has a profile that's roughly like a egg. Combine with that the slickest, smoothest plastic known to man, and I often ended up looking for where I dropped it.
The Ultra Mini is larger than I expected. It's about the same size as other meters, but its sleek design keeps it in the palm of your hand. The meter comes with lancets, strips and a lancing device, all kept inside a bag the size of a sunglass case. There's a convenient strap on the back with which you can attach it to your belt.
Accuracy: I've found no discrepancy with the unit's accuracy. I tested it twice in a row on myself and I've tested readings between the Ultra Touch 2 and this Ultra Mini. I get no discrepancy beyond what might be clinically expected. I've used older meters, so to me, the amount of blood needed for a reading is very small; a couple of millimeters at most. Imagine the head of a small nail.
Though it's a bit bigger than I had envisioned, this seems to be a reliable, easy grip-easy use meter.
