FRIO Individual Insulin Cooler Wallet Review

This product is awesome. I travel a lot & there is no more fooling around with ice & wrapping the bottles so they do not freeze. I've also had insulin freeze before while in motel freezers before because the setting on fridge wasn't adjusted correctly. Not a problem or worry now. I do volunteer trips to disaster areas & have had my ice packs thrown out or misplaced in the freezer by others....not knowing my situation. I can keep the Frio with my stuff until I'm ready to travel again. I just soak it in water & it's ready. There is no thawing on long car trips or flights!

This Poucho Duo Pen wallet kept 2 insulin pens below 72 degrees for a week in Maui where it was 78-85 and humid. I re-wet it one time. At home again, I have it drying on the sink for a week, still not entirely dry, but I am cognizant of the review that complained about developing bad smells so I will let it get very dry and not cool before storing it for next time. I put a small thermometer in with the pens to check the temperature and felt confident that my insulin was not overheating.
A YEAR LATER: I have used this Poucho several times by now, letting it dry thoroughly after each use. I keep it in the frige and take it with me out to dinner with a pen in it. I don't wet it for these short times and feel the insulin in better off than naked in my purse. The trick is to remember to replace it and the pen in the frige when you get home!

FRIO Large Insulin Cooler Wallet Review

I have had nothing but good luck with my Frio. It has gone with me to Britain, Italy, and in the next few months will accompany me to Poland and Greece. I have also taken it camping with me in the North Carolina summer heat without any problem at all. It has always remained cool inside, regardless of the outside temperature, for at least 48 hours (usually longer) before I have to recharge it. It is now four years old and, while it takes a bit longer than ten minutes for the initial charge, still working as well as before.

I have been a diabetic for two years and most of that time I was in a hot climate. After having my insulin go bad a few times do to heat exposure, I was always looking for ways to keep my supplies cool when I was outside. Since I started using the Frio things are so much easier! No more bulky ice packs or asking venders for a cup of ice. I like that it is easy to use, it is activated by water, and you can use it over and over. I am glad I found a product that really works!
