OB Peds Women's Health Notes: Nurse's Clinical Pocket Guide (Nurse's Clinical Pocket Guides) Review

OB Peds Women's Health Notes: Nurse's Clinical Pocket Guide (Nurse's Clinical Pocket Guides)

During my OB/Peds rotation for nursing school I was pleasantly surprised at how helpful this little pocket book was. I found myself looking up interventions that were really useful. I liked that it had all the more common complications and diseases of childhood and pregnancy. I would recommend this book for anyone that needs a quick reference to help with questioning instructors.

Primary Care in Obstetrics and Gynecology: A Handbook for Clinicians Review

Primary Care in Obstetrics and Gynecology: A Handbook for Clinicians
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this book as a guide for my rotation in OB/GYN as a family nurse practitioner student, and I was severely disappointed. I thought it would help me assess and manage OB (and GYN) patients from a primary provider perspective, as its title suggests. However, this book does NOT contain any information on managing the OB patient, except for part of one chapter devoted to routine screening. It includes sections on various common topics covered in better depth in my other textbooks, such as mood disorders, HTN, CVD, GI, respiratory, and the like.
Almost none of the information in this book added to my knowledge base, but it is in a compact, useable text for women's health issues, if you need a go-to reference for that. That is the only reason I gave it two stars.

Boards and Wards (Boards and Wards Series) Review

Boards and Wards (Boards and Wards Series)
Average Reviews:

This book was more than helpful for Step 2. In particular, it helped me polish up on dermatology, ophthalmology, neurology, and radiology - subjects not well covered in the other review books I used, and subjects which had an appreciable presence on USMLE Step 2. It also helped me review OB/GYN at the last minute. Look out for errors, though - others in my class found flaws in the medicine section, for example. Otherwise I'd give it 5 stars. Worth the price for all the high-yield information packed in this little green book.
