(More customer reviews)I can't ask for more. This book is ideal for anyone who has diabetes or someone who'd like to be well informed about diabetes as a health condition no one should neglect. Clearly written and well versed.
The first thing that I liked in this book is that the topics were presented PROGRESSIVELY and it was like something new to read on every single page. You will be drawn to read more as you go on topic by topic. I honestly haven't encountered any other book related to health written like this. It's just like reading a coffee table book just that this one is more informative and gets into the information right away. It is definitely not overfilled with fake patient stories we normally see in other books like this. Like it gets into the genetics of diabetes right from page 39, where it says "scientists are constantly searching for a system that can help predict the odds of acquiring diabetes."
My favorite part of the book was about juvenile diabetes. From page 104: "Because of the numerous manifestations of diabetes, parents must also be able to let their children accept and cope with physical and emotional cycles inherent to the disease." I've always known diabetes as a disease which usually occurs when you are already old. It struck me that there are actually others out there who are suffering with diabetes in an early age. I'm 22 and my family has a long history of diabetics and I am now very much into learning more about it because of this book. I could write about how awesome this book is all day, seriously.
